What’s Happening Wednesday: Nashville Events 6/23-6/25

Here’s a round-up of some of Nashville’s fun, family-friendly events happening this weekend!

Oklahoma at Centennial Park

Running Thursday through Sunday, this performance of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic starts at 7:30 at the Centennial Park band shell. All performances are free with a suggested $10 donation to help support Metro Park Cultural Arts and the newly formed Music City Theatre Collective (MCTC). The performance will feature professional and youth actors and musicians and an experience that MCTC says will provide families a “new way to enjoy the park this summer”. Check here for more information and a map to the band shell.

Family Night Out at Cheekwood

Every Thursday throughout the summer, Cheekwood hosts evenings of fun, family-friendly entertainment. The evenings start with Kids Fitness programs presented by the staff of Green Hills YMCA, followed by shows, performances and fun! This Thursday, June 23, the WannaBeatles will be performing and featured food trucks will be: Rolling Feast and Retro Sno. Admission for family night is included with your Cheekwood membership or day-of Cheekwood admission. Tickets are available for purchase and can be found here.

Zoovie Night

Head to the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere for a family fun night under the stars! This Friday night, festivities will start at 6pm. There will be games, inflatables, music, crafts, and after-hour access to the carousel and the zipline. As soon as the sun goes down, Kung Fu Panda will be shown on a large screen in the festival field. This event is free for Zoo Members and for non-members is included with day-of admission, or is $6 if entering after 6pm. For more information, head over to the Nashville Zoo website.

H2Glow Family Pool Party

The party will take place from 7-10pm and will feature free glow necklaces and bracelets and music by DJ “Sir-Glows-a-lot”. There will also be games and relays for all-ages and glow-in-the-dark corn hole games. Admission to the party is $5 per person with a $20 maximum per family.
