It’s finally starting to feel a little like fall in Nashville. What better way to celebrate the cooler weather ahead than getting outside and exploring some of the festivals and fun Nashville has planned this weekend, Friday 10/2 to Sunday 10/4.
Opry 90th Birthday Bash– Celebrating 90 years of the show that made country music famous, Nashvillians can see all star packed shows on Friday October 2 and Saturday October 3, an onstage Opry Birthday cake, a special birthday concert, backstage tours, free music in Opry Plaza and more! Scheduled for the Friday October 2 show are Little Big Town, Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers, Joe Diffie, Diamond Rio, Old Crow Medicine Show, Lorrie Morgan and more! On Saturday, October 3 there is a special birthday concert at 1 p.m. with the Oak Ridge Boys and the Opry show that evening will feature Carrie Underwood, Trace Adkins, Sam Palladio, Chris Carmack and more! 3rd Annual Fall Fest at the Hermitage– Spend the weekend at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage: Home of the People’s President, soaking up art, music and history! The Festival runs Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, October 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Presale tickets are $5 for adults, and $2 for kids. Tickets at the door at $6 for adults and $3 for kids, with military personnel getting in FREE. The Country Music Hall of Fame will be onsite with their Musical Petting Zoo, the Nashville Zoo will be onsite with a hands-on exhibit and Turnip Green Creative Reuse will have fun projects utilizing recycle materials.
Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival– In a city where one is six residents are foreign born, the Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival is a celebration and reminder of what a diverse, wonderful place Nashville is to live! The festival will be Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Centennial Park. This FREE festival will feature a variety of dance and musical performances on seven stages, food vendors featuring authentic and exotic fare from around the world, hands-on activities for children, a marketplace and more!
Bellyrama 2015- Presented by Blooma Nashville, this FREE family friendly event will be Sunday, October 4 from 3 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Join families from around Nashville at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park Amphitheater in Downtown Nashville at 3 p.m. to share a yoga practice with Jenni Derryberry Mann. At 4:00 p.m. there will be a yoga for kids class with Ashley Drinnon. Other activities scheduled for the day include face painting, belly painting, a photo booth, a marketplace of family-friendly mama-focused products and services, baby wearing demo to kick off International Babywearing Week and the Music City Brisket Truck with special kids menu items and vegetarian options!
